CBT that stays practical and human
If you want a way to look at what is keeping a problem going in everyday life, I use CBT to do that with care. We can focus on present-day patterns without losing sight of the person behind them.

How I use it
Kristy Rosendorf, LMHC
With CBT, I pay close attention to the links between thoughts, feelings, and actions. We look at what tends to trigger the loop and what keeps it going in ordinary situations. The work is concrete and grounded in your own examples, not just in general ideas. Depending on what you are dealing with, we may stay focused on one issue or look at a few patterns that overlap.
We look at what happens between the thought, the feeling, and the next move.
Who it tends to suit
People often come in wanting help with worry, low mood, self-criticism, habits, or situations that keep repeating. They may feel caught in automatic reactions that are hard to interrupt. Sometimes the issue is less about one big event and more about a steady pattern that keeps draining energy. The work often starts where the pattern is most visible in daily life.
- I know what I should do, but I do the same thing anyway.
- My thoughts go straight to the worst-case version.
- I talk to myself in a way I would never talk to anyone else.
- I get stuck replaying the same situation.
What the first sessions look like
In the first sessions, I ask what is happening now and what you want help understanding more clearly. We talk about the situations, thoughts, and reactions that keep showing up, and you do not need to arrive with a perfectly organized account.

Questions people ask
Is CBT just about changing negative thoughts?
No. It is also about noticing the patterns between thoughts, feelings, and actions in real situations.
Will we only talk about homework and exercises?
No. The work is a conversation, and we use what is useful for what you are bringing in.
Can CBT help if I feel stuck in habits I hate?
Yes, that kind of stuckness is often part of what people bring. We can look at what keeps the habit in place.
What does CBT actually look like in session?
We talk through examples from your week and notice the connections that show up. From there, we use those patterns to guide the work.
