What I help with

Autism & Neurodivergence support that respects how you work

If you want therapy that takes your way of thinking and experiencing seriously, I offer that kind of space. We can pay attention to overwhelm, communication, masking, routines, and what feels easier or harder for you without trying to force a single mold.

What people bring me

People often come in feeling misunderstood, overtaxed, or tired of adapting to other people’s expectations. Everyday life can take a lot of energy when sensory load, transitions, communication, or social demands keep adding up. Some people have spent a long time trying to look fine while feeling depleted inside. Others are looking for a place where their way of processing does not have to be translated or defended.

  • I leave interactions replaying them over and over.
  • I get overwhelmed by things other people seem to brush off.
  • I spend a lot of energy trying to look normal.
  • I need more structure than people seem to understand.

I want to understand your experience without smoothing it into someone else’s template.

How I work with it

I work from the assumption that differences in processing matter. That means paying attention to overload, shutdown, masking, communication style, and the environments that shape how you feel and function. For one person, the work may focus on self-understanding and reducing pressure; for another, it may focus on relationships, recovery, or emotional regulation. I try to make the room more usable, not more demanding.

CBT
We can use CBT to notice the thoughts and assumptions that build stress in day-to-day situations. The focus stays on practical patterns, not on making you fit a different way of being.
ACT
ACT can help you relate differently to discomfort and self-judgment. We look at what matters to you while making room for the stress that comes with being in a mismatched environment.
Psychodynamic Therapy
This can help us understand the weight of old messages about fitting in or being too much. We pay attention to how those messages still shape relationships and self-understanding.

What the first sessions look like

The first sessions are about understanding how you experience things and what support would actually feel useful. I will ask about the parts of daily life that take the most energy, and you do not need to prove or explain your neurodivergence to begin.

Questions people ask

Do you understand neurodivergence beyond just behavior problems?

Yes. I look at the experience underneath what is happening, including stress, communication, and the effort it takes to get through the day.

Will I have to mask less in therapy?

I will not ask you to perform a version of yourself that feels unnatural here. We can work in a way that is steady and respectful of your pace.

What if I am still figuring out what I need?

That is fine. We can use the first conversations to notice what drains you and what helps you feel more settled.

Can therapy help with the stress of being misunderstood?

That is often part of the work. We can look at how misunderstanding affects you and what support feels more fitting.
