Addiction & Recovery support for what comes next
If recovery needs steady attention, honesty, and room for what is underneath the behavior, I offer a place to do that work. We can talk about use, urges, shame, and the patterns that show up around them without making the conversation all or nothing.
What people bring me
People often come in feeling torn, embarrassed, or worn out by cycles they cannot keep pretending are fine. There may be secrecy, regret, arguments, broken routines, or a sense that one part of life keeps taking over the rest. Sometimes the struggle is with stopping; sometimes it is with staying stopped; sometimes it is with the feelings that surface when the noise settles. Recovery can bring up pressure, grief, and old ways of coping all at once.
- I keep promising myself this is the last time.
- I hide how much this has been affecting me.
- I do fine for a while, then I spiral again.
- I do not know how to handle the feelings without it.
We can talk plainly about what is happening and what surrounds it.
How I work with it
I approach recovery as more than just the behavior itself. We can look at what the use has been doing for you, what it has covered up, and what becomes harder when you try to change it. The work may involve shame, relationships, routines, and the emotions that can show up when coping changes. I keep the conversation practical and direct, while staying attentive to what is underneath.
- CBT
- We look at the situations, thoughts, and habits that get pulled into the cycle. The work can help us notice where urges and automatic responses fit into daily life.
- ACT
- ACT helps us make room for discomfort without immediately reaching for the old coping path. We also look at what matters to you in recovery beyond getting through the day.
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- This can help us understand why certain feelings or relationships keep pulling you back toward familiar coping. We pay attention to the meanings and pressures underneath the pattern.
What the first sessions look like
The first sessions focus on what is happening around the use or recovery process now. I will ask about patterns, triggers, supports, and what feels hardest to face, and you do not need to have a polished version of the story.

Questions people ask
Can I come in if I am not ready to stop?
Yes. We can start with what is happening and what feels most important to talk about now.
Do you only work with substance use?
No. Recovery can also involve the habits, feelings, and patterns that go with it.
What if shame is the biggest thing I feel?
That is something we can work with directly. Shame often shapes how people hide, cope, and ask for help.
Will you just tell me to use willpower?
No. We will look at what the pattern does, what keeps it going, and what support is actually needed.
